What does Employee Ownership Mean?

Employee ownership is a dynamic business model, well suited to the care sector. It empowers everyone to develop and also to work towards a sustainable future. Employee owned companies mean the employees own the majority of the company’s shares and have a say in how the company is run through consultation on major decisions, particularly those which directly affect the employee’s.

As shareholders in the company, employees can benefit from the sharing of knowledge, influence and rewards.

We ensure that our employee owners are involved in guiding their business for the future.

There are many benefits of employee ownership including: high levels of colleague engagement, fair employment practices, lower staff turnover and opportunities for staff to participate in the running and profits of their business.  This will help lead to better outcomes for staff and service users.

We have an employee elected forum which works alongside management, giving the employees a voice and enabling greater communication between the two. There are employee elected members on our board of directors and trustees meaning the employees have a direct involvement in how the company is run and can create and improve key business strategies.
