Self Directed Support Scotland
Self Directed Support, or SDS for short, is a way for individuals to work with the social work department, other organisations and paid workers to put together a package of care that suits their needs and the way they want to live their lives.
Alzheimer Scotland provides a wide range of specialist services for people with dementia and their carers. They offer a 24/7 helpline and have a team of Dementia Advisors and Dementia Nurse Consultants. Caledonia Social Care was Alzheimer Scotland’s care service until 2017. Caledonia Social Care's highly skilled support staff are trained to the Scottish Government Promoting Excellence framework in Dementia Care.
Care Inspectorate is the national regulator for care services in Scotland. Caledonia Social Care is inspected and evaluated for its quality of care and latest reports can be found on their website.
Care Information Scotland (CIS) provides information about care and care services for people living in Scotland. It's a great place to start if you’re new to care services or a caring role.
